RWE has agreed to acquire indirect shares in Amprion, Germany's transmission system operator, increasing its total stake to 55% for €3.6 billion. The transaction will be fully financed through an equity capital raise of approximately €4 billion, with cornerstone investors Qatar Investment Authority and Norges Bank Investment Management committing €1 billion. RWE will invest an additional €4 billion through 2031 to expand Germany's 11,000-kilometre transmission grid infrastructure, supporting the country's energy transition while maintaining Amprion's independent operations.
