Messer Acquires Singapore Industrial Gas Platform WKS Group

Messer, the world's leading privately-held industrial gas manufacturer, has completed its acquisition of WKS Group, a Singapore-headquartered platform serving the industrial gases sector across Singapore and southern Malaysia.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

WKS Group, established in Singapore during 1977, operates as a diversified industrial gas platform comprising six separate operating entities with a workforce of approximately 195 employees. The platform has established regional presence across key Southeast Asian markets, positioning Messer to expand its footprint in a strategically important Asian corridor.

Messer operates with EUR 4.5 billion in consolidated annual revenue as of its 2025 financial year. The deal represents the company's continued investment in geographic expansion and platform consolidation within the industrial gases segment, where market consolidation has accelerated across developed and emerging markets.

Japan Corporate Advisory Institute advised the sellers on the transaction, providing transaction advisory services throughout the negotiation and closing processes. The deal reflects ongoing M&A activity within the specialty chemicals and industrial gases sector, where larger players pursue bolt-on acquisitions to achieve scale and operational synergies.
