MasTec has agreed to acquire Electrical Specialists, operating as The Superior Group, a full-service electrical contractor serving critical infrastructure markets.
The transaction amount was not disclosed in the announcement.
Superior, based in Columbus, Ohio, brings nearly a century of operational history to the combined entity. The contractor has developed capabilities across data center construction, mission-critical facility upgrades, and electrical system installation for infrastructure clients. The company has operated under Stewart family ownership since the mid-1980s.
The deal represents MasTec's continued expansion into specialized infrastructure contracting, particularly in segments where power reliability and technical expertise command premium margins. Data center development has accelerated across North America as technology companies invest heavily in computing capacity, creating sustained demand for electrical contracting services. MasTec's existing portfolio positions it to cross-sell additional services to Superior's customer base.
The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Deal advisors were not identified in the announcement.
