UniTek Global Services has acquired Concurrent Utility Services, marking an expansion into grid infrastructure as utilities accelerate modernization efforts.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Concurrent specializes in providing infrastructure services related to power grid enhancement and network connectivity solutions. The acquisition strengthens UniTek's Power Services Division, which commenced operations in July 2025 following the company's earlier pivot toward the energy transition sector.
UniTek, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, has positioned itself as an infrastructure provider serving communications and data center operators.
The deal reflects growing demand for specialized contractors capable of executing complex power infrastructure projects. As utilities face aging asset replacement cycles and pressure to integrate distributed energy resources, service providers with expertise in grid integration have become increasingly valuable acquisition targets for larger infrastructure platforms.
The deal is expected to close in the coming months, pending customary closing conditions. Additional transaction details, including deal size and advisor assignments, were not provided at announcement.
